Good grief! This news story totally P*sses me off!
And now, Russian adoptions by US Citizens are banned… grr!
First, I’m not a therapist, but I do know a thing or two about RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder) a condition thru no fault of the child. Michael Friedman of Advanced Parenting further explains:
If you are considering adopting from a foreign country or domestically out of the foster care system, you want to consider the possibility that your child has suffered from neglect or abuse. Unfortunately, that is a likely scenario, so you will want to be aware of how to prepare to be the awesome parent of a challenging child.
I wonder if the adoptive family considered these factors before adoption, and, if they considered the effects of THEIR actions?
