I totally get this. For years Europeans have used their mobile as their primary telephone, unlike many US households who still have a landline. And, even some 3rd world countries that never had basic telephone service before, now have mobile… because a mobile network is a helluva lot easier to build. No poles, wires, or “outside plant facilities,” as we telephone company people would say.
So, YES, it’s true! The United States is catching up with the rest of the world. Hurray!
